Sleepy Time Boyfriend makes its debut on Android!

VisualWorks announced on their official twitter account that their program "Sleepy-Time Boyfriend" has been released for Android mobile OS phones and tablets.

Kakeru running on an Asus Transform tablet
Currently only the Kakeru version is out. Also VisualWorks has admitted that they have found flaws and are working to fix them. Kakeru's expansion packs can be purchased for 170 yen a piece. (It will be automatically converted) This makes the android version's expansion packs 29 yen cheaper than the iOS versions.

No information about when the updates will come or when the problems will be fixed. The google play store does incorrectly stated that 6 versions are available. It also states "18th Nov-22th Dec. we will release continuously CD a week!"

I cannot verify all problems with the android version on all devices but I can verify that on the "HTC Inspire" and on the "Asus Transformer" tablet  The dynamic background does not work and the alarm will only work if in talk mode.

Finally, VisualWorks confirmed on their twitter account that they have run into problems with "Masaya" the next character to be released for the iOS version (voiced by Toshiyuki Morikawa) No time frame has been given as to when the problem(s) when be resolved.

Sleepy Time Sheep #2 announced, the first screen shots of the Sleepy Time Sheep app, and Masaya pics.

"Yuichi" the new Hitsuji voiced by Keiji Fujiwara

Starting last month, Black Butterfly (the company behind the Soine Kareshi CD series) has announced their next Sleepy-Time Hitsuji. Code name "Yuichi" he will be voiced by Keiji Fujiwara.

Fujiwara is well known for his roles as "Hiroshi Nohara" From Crayon Shin-chan (Shin's dad), "Lieutenant-Colonel Maes Hughes" From Fullmetal Alchemist and "Hisahide Matsunaga" from "Sengoku BASARA"

The CD version is set for an August 31st release date. At this time it isn't confirmed for an app release yet.

Previously, VisualWorks had announced they would make an app version of "Sleepy-Time Sheep" on their twitter account they have updated with the main picture for "Yasuomi". Yasuomi is voice by Ryotaro Okiayu. There is no release date yet for the app.

Even though it hasn't been updated yet, VisualWorks has released the images for the next "Soine Kareshi" This one is Masaya. He is voiced by Toshiyuki Morikawa. "Sephiroth" from Final Fantasy VII Advent Children, "Tyki Mikk" from D.Gray-man and "Kojuro Katakura" from Sengoku BASARA.

Due to a request from Morikawa the app which was previously available only on iOS will be available for Android.

Due do the Android version and the iOS version set to be released at the same time, the iOS version which is already complete has been delayed. The Android version is over 90% complete and is scheduled to be released within the coming weeks. No word yet if the English localization is completed.

That's all for now. Sweet dreams to you!

Soine Kareshi Hitsuji app to be released! Android Soine Kareshi?

Fans of both the Soine Kareshi application and Ryotaro Okiayu can rejoice! One of the spin off series of the "Soine Kareshi" Series "Soine Hitsuji" will get its own app! VisualWorks combines the Soine Kareshi (Sleepy-Time Boyfriend) Situation CD series with the interaction of smart phones. With the main "Weekend version" ending, VisualWorks has added two spin off series.

We talked about the VitaminX one in a previous post but announced before that was the app version of "Soine Hitsuji" (Sleepy-Time Sheep) The first CD which will be released on June 29th, Is "Yasuomi". He is voiced by Ryotaro Okiayu. There is no date on when his app will be release. The announcement came on Visualwork's official "Soine" Twitter.

Tweet reads: [INFO] (Soine hitsuji CD) application plans are in order! The first one will be Ryotaro Okiayu's "Yasuomi".  The close day of its release has been decided! The "Soine Kareshi" series will still continue!!
Also on Visualwork's twitter was an announcment a month back that they would be developing the "Sleepy-Time Boyfriend" Android version. As of last night, VisualWorks tweeted saying the app was 97% complete. It had no issues on any of the machines it was tested on. They also posted a picture of the app on various Android phones.

Tweet reads: Android version of Soine Kareshi (Weekend Soine Kareshi CD ver) is now 97% complete. Please wait just a little longer. We are now checking for any problems but there are none to report!
The android version comes at a special request from the next release's voice source, Toshiyuki Morikawa. For reasons unknown, he pressed for the release of an Android version of the app. The news doesn't come as a surprise to many of the Japanese fans as the VisualWorks twitter account was spammed with requests for an Android version daily. While the development of the Android is good news for Droid users, it has pushed back the release of "Masaya' almost two weeks.

Sweet Dreams with you and your Sleepy-Time Boyfriend!
