Sengoku BASARA 4

At Capcom's yearly (and sometimes bi-yearly) Sengoku BASARA event, Capcom announced there will be a Sengoku BASARA 4.

The "Sengoku BASARA" series first started on the Playstation 2 in 2005. The game made it overseas labeled as "Devil Kings" however, all names were changed to remove references to Japan. The series went on to spawn three direct sequals (an now a fourth) as well as two side story games, ("Sengoku BASARA 2 Gaiden Heroes" and "Sengoku BASARA 3 UTAGE" a fighter created by Arc System Works (famous for Guilty Gear, and BlazBlue ) named "Sengoku BASARA X (Cross) and two Dog Fight games "Sengoku BASARA Battle Heroes" and "Sengoku BASARA Chronicle Heroes" Capcom developed "Gundam Vs. Gundam" for Bandai Namco then used the same engine for the Chronicle and Battle Heroes games. Finally in 2012 Capcom released an HD collection for 1, 2, and 2 Gaiden Heroes. The game "Sengoku BASARA 3" was localized and renamed "Sengoku BASARA: Samurai Heroes" returning the original names to the characters thanks to the popularity of the anime series.

On March 30th and 31st, Capcom held the "BASARA matsuri 2013 -Spring Edition-. At the end of the event, the audience was surprised with a trailer for a . The trailer announced that in 2014 there will be a new Sengoku BASARA game. The trailer features the voice of popular voice actor "Shuichi Ikeda" who is famous as the voice of "Char Azanable" from "Mobile Suit Gundam". The trailer expresses that even though the final battle has been fought, there is still more story that hasn't been told about the Sengoku era. It displays the words "sengoku sousei" meaning "Sengoku Genesis" and the words "shinshou totsunyu" which means "Breaking into a new chapter". These words are the "Themes of Sengoku BASARA 4"

The trailer ends with a picture of two shadowy figures presumed to be two new characters. Also presumed is that one of the will be voiced by Shuichi Ikeda. With the trailer announcing that the game won't be released until 2014, fans of the series will have to wait for more information.

  1. Thanks for the information. I'm a huge fan of sengoku basara so I was expecting a 4, but I was afraid they drop all the old characters. The best is sengoku basara 2 heroes. Wish it will be like this one.

    1. My personal belief is that it might be a story about Masamune's dad. I would like that to happen. Historically it was really sad because Masamune had to kill his dad after he had been kidnapped. Who knows!? I think it will be awesome.
