Sengoku BASARA massive update post part 4 (Final Character Additions)

With the release of the long awaited "Sengoku BASARA 4" game we have decided to finish out the 40 characters announced for the game!

Here we go!

Playable Characters

Motonari Mori

Voiced by Shigeru Nakahara
Introduced in Sengoku BASARA (Devil Kings), Motonari Mori hails from the Chugoku region of Japan. The eternal rival of Motochika Chosokabe, Mori returns in Sengoku BASARA 4 to foul up the meeting of Shikanosuke Yamanaka and Mori's other rival, Haruhisa Amago.

Mori is voiced by Shigeru Nakahara. Nakahara is known for his roles as "Trown Barton" from New Mobile Report Gundam Wing, "Yoko Kurama" from Yu Yu Hakusho, "Sho Zama" from Aura Battler Dunbine, and "Android 17" from Dragon Ball Z.

Yoshiaki Mogami

Voiced by Tetsu Shiratori
Inroduced in Sengoku BASARA 3, Mogami became playable in Sengoku BASARA 3 UTAGE. Historically, Yoshiaki Mogami is Masamune Date's uncle on his mother's side. While the family relation hasn't carried over into the BASARA franchise, Mogami's underhanded deals have. Yoshiaki Mogami will stop at nothing to come out on top.

Tesu Shiratori gives this dandy his voice. Shiratori playes "Deathroy" from Blue Dragon, "Kouji Aiba" from Infinite Ryvius, "Andrei Smirnov" from Mobile Suit Gundam 00, "Kain Fuery" from Fullmetal Alchemist (2003 series), and "Sai Argyle" from Mobile Suit Gundam SEED

Yoshihiro Shimazu

Voiced by Kenichi Ogata

Shimazu initially appeared in the first Sengoku BASARA game. Though he has been in every installment of the series, he has never really enjoyed the spotlight. In Sengoku BASARA 3, he took up the name "Chester Shimazu" after converting to Xavism at the hands of Sorin Otomo.  His greatest rival is none other than Ieyasu Tokugawa's right hand man, Tadakatsu Honda.

Shimazu is voiced by Kenichi Ogata. Ogata is known for portraying villains and rougher sounding characters such as "Hiroshi Agusa" (Hershel Agusa) from Detective Conan (Case Closed), "Myoga" from InuYasha, "Genma Saotome" from Ranma 1/2, "Shamisen" from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and "Tarukane" from Yu Yu Hakusho. (Poltergeist Report)

Nagamasa Azai

Voiced by Koji Tsujitani
Nagamasa Azai made his first appearance in Sengoku BASARA 2. While fans of the series know that he tragically died at the hands of his wife Oichi's brother, Nobunaga Oda, his memory has been the driving force behind Oichi's fall into darkness. In Sengoku BASARA 4, the events leading up to his betrayal and death shall be revealed.

Nagamasa is voiced by Koji Tsujitani. Tsujitani voices characters such as "Jajuka" from Vision of Escaflowne, "Dewy Novak" from Eureka Seven, "Miroku" from Inu Yasha, "Bernard Wiseman" from Mobile Suit Gundam 0080 War in the Pocket, and "Seabook Arno" from Mobile Suit Gundam F91.

Oichi

Voiced by Mamiko Noto

Nobunaga Oda's younger sister and the wife of Nagamasa Azai, Oichi is sometimes referred to as simply "Ichi". As her husband was killed at the hands of her brother, she has been constantly torn between her love for Azai and her duty to her brother. She descends into darkness, hoping to stop the evil her brother brings to the land.

Mamiko Noto provides the voice for Lady Oichi. Noto has performed a wide variety of roles, including those of "Rin" from Inu Yasha, "Fuka Yamagishi" from Persona 3, "Aisa Himegami" from A Certain Magical Index, "Sayoko Mishima" from Ah My Goddess (TV), and "Felicita" from La Storia della Arcana Famigila.

Yoshitsugu Otani

Voiced by Fumihiko Tachiki
Introduced in Sengoku BASARA 3, Otani is Mitsunari Ishida's right hand man. While he assists Mitsunari in his quest for revenge on Ieyasu Tokugawa, he has his own personal motives as well. His pretending not to care about the true nature of Mitsunari Ishida and his underground deals ultimately leads to his downfall. In Sengoku BASARA 4, his ambitions and subsequent rise to power are revealed.

Voice actor Fumihiko Tachiki gives the character Otani his evil laugh. He is known for roles such as "Kenpachi Zaraki" from Bleach, "Taizo Hasegawa" (Madao) from Gintama, "Yoshio Ootori" from Ouran High School Host Club, "Lexaues/Aeleus" from Kingdom Hearts, and "Gendo Ikari" from Neon Genesis Evangelion.

Sorin Otomo

Voiced by Noriaki Sugiyama
Sorin Otomo first started preaching the words of Xavism in Sengoku BASARA 3. He became a playable character in Sengoku BASARA 3 UTAGE. Along with Muneshige Tachibana (AKA Gallp Tachibana), Sorin plans to convert everyone to Xavism. He strongly believes that doing so will bring the great and powerful Xavi back to Japan. He was able to convert Motonari Mori (Sunday Mori) and Yoshihiro Shimazu (Chester Shimazu). Together with his merry band and the lovely Maria Kyogoku, he will spread the word of Xavi regardless of whether others want to hear it or not.

Noriaki Sugiyama is the vocal talent behind this faithful Xavist. Sugiyama is well known for his portrayal of "Uryu Ishida" in Bleach, "Boris Airay" (Cheshire Cat) in Alice in the Country of Hearts, "Bruno Bucciarati" in the game Jojo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle, "Sasuke Uchiha" from Naruto, and "England" from Hetalia.

Muneshige Tachibana

Voiced by Tetsu Inada

Sorin's right hand man, Muneshige often finds himself privy to Sorin's outrageous and embarrassing plans to spread Xavism. While he isn't as much of a believer as Sorin, Muneshige is fiercely loyal to his lord. He obeys most of Sorin's commands without question. Having been estranged from his wife and daughter, no thanks to Xavism, he wishes to make amends with them one day.

Muneshige is voiced by Tetsu Inada. Inada also voices "Lu Bu/Huang Gai" in the series Dynasty Warriors, "Sajin Komamura/Love Aikawa" in Bleach, "Katayama Gorobei" from Samurai 7, "Kurogane" from Tsubasa Chronicle, and "Mukotsu" from Inu Yasha.

Kotaro Fuuma

Kotaro Fuuma is a swordsman for hire. While he never utters a single word, he works for whoever is willing to pay. Having worked for Hisahide Matsunaga in SB2, he switched to working for Ujimasa Hojo (or Ieyasu Tokugawa) in SB3. Due to the timeline of Sengoku BASARA 4, it appears that Fuuma is still working with Matsunaga.

Kotaro is the second character in the Sengoku BASARA franchise to not have a voice. He is represented by the sound of wind blowing.

Hisahide Matsunaga

Voiced by Keiji Fujiwara

While having been an NPC for most of the series, Matsunaga has been around since Sengoku BASARA 2. It wasn't until Sengoku BASARA 3 UTAGE that he became playable for the first time. Out to steal the greatest treasures of the Sengoku Era, Matsunaga will stop at nothing and kill anyone that gets in his way.

The semi-evil Matsunaga gets his deep voice from voice actor Keiji Fujiwara. Fujiwara also provides the voices for "Ali Al-Saachez" from Mobile Suit Gundam 00, "Axel/Lea" from Kingdom Hearts, "Leorio Paladinight" from Hunter X Hunter, "Maes Hughes" from Fullmetal Alchemist (both series), and "Shiro Fujimoto" from Ao no Exorcist.

NPC

Maria Kyogoku

Voiced by Miyuki Sawashiro

New to the Sengoku BASARA series, Maria is the elder sister of Nagamasa Azai. Historically, all records of her real name were changed after she was married. Her husband converted to Christianity and gave her a new first name as well. Maria seems to be in a power struggle with Oichi to influence her brother. She also joins Sorin Otomo in his effort to spread Xavism.

Miyuki Sawashiro is the voice actress behind Nagamasa's older sister. Sawashiro voices powerful females such as "Minfilia" from Final Fantasy X1V, "Millia Maxwell" from Tales of Xillia, "Puchiko" in Di Gi Charat, "Touko Fukawa" from Danganronpa, and "Haruka Nanami/Queen of the Silk Palace" from Uta no Prince-Sama.

Kenshin Uesugi

Voiced by Romi Park
Introduced in the first game, Kenshin has often played the role of NPC. Leader of Echigo, a land torn by a rivalry between Kenshin and long time rival, Shingen Takeda. Known for his love of drinking Kenshin Uesugi loved sake as much as he loved winning battles. He is sometimes referred to as "The god of war". Kenshin and and frozen blade give no mercy.

Kenshin Uesugi is voiced by Romi Park. She is primarily known for male roles such as "Edward Elric" from Fullmetal Alchemist, "Loran Cehack/Laura Rolla"" from Turn A Gundam and "Zidane Tribal" from Final Fantasy Dissidia.  Her female characters, however have been getting more attention lately, such as her portrayals of "Nana Osaki" from Nana, "Temari" from Naruto, and "Hanji Zoe" from Attack on Titan.

Kasuga

Voiced by Natsuko Kuwatani
Sent on a mission to assassinate the war lord Kenshin Uesugi in the first Sengoku BASARA game, Kasuga found herself instead falling in love. Since then she has stuck by his side. While not a historical figure, Kasuga has found her place in the hearts of fans. Her passion for Kenshin and her hate for Sasuke Sarutobi ensure her place in the franchise.

This sexy kunoichi is voiced by Natsuko Kuwatani. Kuwatani's credits include "Arf" from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha, "Ryoko Asakura" from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, "Yue Ayase" from Negima!, "Alister Agrew" from Last Exile, and "Suiseiseki" (DESU DESU) from Rozen Maiden.
