Gundam Breaker updates.

Bandai Namco, in an attempt not seen by many companies lately, has taken the customer survey and put it into place.

Our last update was characters but it seems that Bandai Namco has done a complete overhaul of many of the game's core items.

Online Features

Voice Chat: Online players need not rely only on prompts anymore. They can directly chat with friends via a microphone.

Friend list: Players can create a friend list in game or use their PS3's friend list to invite people to join a room with them. Those that create a room no longer have to password lock it. They can lock the room and invite.

Lock-on Functions

On/Off: Players can turn on or off the lock-on function. This allows for players to attack anyone that is near them.

Precision lock-on enhancement: When switching targets, the system will switch to the closest enemy (or attempt to)

Mid-air attack follows through: When switching targets turning a mid-air attack, the attack will follow the targeting switch.

Lock-on targeting: When you want to switch targets you, you can manually do it! It will also adjust the camera.

Parts customization

Selling parts: Parts that are in stock can be sold. (Previously they could only be discarded)

Parts creation: Certain parts can bundled with other parts to create a new part. The system for this has yet to be revealed.

Size customization: given that some parts are larger or smaller than other parts, you can change the size of it to match your created mobile suit.

Scale changer: A part can be changed to reflect scale size. A 1/144 HG can be changed to a 1/100 MG part. Another system with no details.

Despite all these changes, the release date of June 27th hasn't been changed.

Gundam Breaker update. Character, Allies and Mobile Suits.

Gundam Breaker, Bandai Namco's new project. Has been gaining attention since its demo launched. Out of the over 300,000 downloads, about 150,000 people responded to the survey on Gundam Perfect Games. Bandai Namco Games has announced that it has addressed some of the results of the survey.

Character additions.

One of the most overwhelming requests was the inclusion of characters.

Commanding Officer (隊長) [taichou]
Voice by Kenichiro Matsuda

Operator
Voiced by Ayane Sakura

Both the Commander and Operator assist you in battle by giving you the objective and by identifying the attacking mobile suits. While more about their role hasn't been revealed yet, screen shots have been revealed.

Also released is the ability to add ally mobile suits in offline mode. While big enemies are easy to defeat in online mode with fellow players, they pose more of a terrifying challenge in offline (1 player) mode. Bandai Namco has addressed this problem by adding the ability to add team members. Making the playing field even.

The final announcement was the confirmation of mobile suits. Previously, all mobile suits had been confirmed by seeing the names in videos. Now, they have officially confirmed mobile suits.

God Gundam (Burning)

Mobile Suit: GF13-017NJII God Gundam (Burning Gundam)

God Gundam (Burning) was partially confirmed with the last trailer.

Susanowo

Mobile Suit: GNX-Y901TW Susanowo
Series: Mobile Suit Gundam 00
Original Pilot: Mr. Bushido (Graham Aker)

As with the Astray Red Frame, Susanowo is the altered version of another mobile suit. The Masurao was featured in a previous video as well. Weather or not, the Susanowo will replace the Masurao or not is unknown.

Unicorn Gundam (Destroy mode)

Mobile Suit: RX-0 Gundam Unicorn (Destroy Mode)
Series: Mobile Suit Gundam UC (Unicorn)

Burning Gundam (God Gundam) confirmed for Gundam Breaker.

Bandai Namco's newest game "Gundam Breaker" has gained world wide attention. Continuing with the hype from the overwhelming success of the demo, Bandai Namco has posted a Web CM (Internet Commercial) video.

The video averages about 10,000 views a day.

The newest video features the voice of popular voice actor Tomokazu Seki, who voices the character "Domon Kasshu" from "Mobile Fighter G Gundam". Without saying so, he performs the commercial as if he were playing Domon Kasshu, Going as for to shout a modified version of the character's signature "Gundam Fight. Ready! Go!" catch phrase. Tomokazu Seki also provides the voices of "Yzak Joule" from "Gundam SEED" and "Tomache Massarik" from "Victory Gundam"

God Gundam (Known as "Burning Gundam" in the US.

The video also confirms the addition of God Gundam. The Gundam name was changed to "Burning Gundam" in the US. The Gundam only appears for four seconds of video and is not introduced. God Gundam joins Master Gundam and Nobel Gundam from the show "G Gundam"

The torso of Nobel Gundam is shown in this mobile suit.

The game is available for pre-order (see previous article) and will be available for PS3 on June 27th, the PS VITA version release date is still unknown.

As the videos suggests, online play with up to three other people is available. Even those playing the Beta demo can play online.

By mixing and matching parts a person can create their "Dream Gundam" In addition to mixing parts, a player can change the color of the mobile suit, add decals, weathering, damage, airbrush, and texturing. When the model is finished, it can be saved to a "Gundam Perfect Games" profile. It can be entered in theme competitions and shared via Facebook, Twitter, and other social media pages.

Change parts and colors for your ultimate mobile suit

The menus are English friendly often having the translation of the Japanese menu item under or to the side of it. While the customize menu is almost entirely English, the mission menu, names and descriptions of parts, and the "specs"  menus are completely in Japanese.

Customize menu. Part of the menu is in English
While listed as an "Action" game, fans of RPGs could get into this title. Battling earns you OS points and as you defeat enemies, they leave behind parts. These parts can be built and thus earning you builder points. Collecting OS points and builder points allows you to level up. Earning you better parts, better stats, more abilities and more customization options. Certain parts have certain abilities that can be equipped giving the mobile suit special attacks and even the ability to heal (repair)

Another element unique to this game is the ability to knock off parts (or get them knocked off of you) having a part knocked off affects the performance greatly. Knocking a head off causes inability to target enemies while losing an arm can prevent you from shooting or performing melee attacks. While annoying, it can help you stun an enemy when you pull it off.

Losing your head could lose you the battle.
Having a chance to play the beta demo my strongest (and not very at that) complaint is the targeting and camera. Unfortunately the targeting is changed by constantly moving the camera. When approaching a group of enemies, the camera will target the first one you see (usually the closest) however if you snipe it and stun it, you are open to attacks from the approaching mobile suits because you cannot change the target manually. You have to move the camera then change the target. It might not seem like a big deal but with fast approaching enemies, that one move can be fatal. My other gripe with the camera is the complete reliance on the player. While fighting you might not always have time to be moving the camera. If you are pressed up against the wall, you are literally fighting blind. In many cases the camera may not move even if you are attempting to move it, resulting a shot of your back or darkness from the backgrounds.

The game drops on June, 27th for the Playstation 3, while the release date for the PS VITA has yet to be announced. Ami Ami, HMV, CD-Japan, and Play-Asia all have the games available for purchase. The beta demo is available for download on Playstation Network Japan.
